Amundi Private Equity Funds (Amundi PEF) is a subsidiary of Amundi and is an authorized management company registered with the French regulator. The firm has been operating since 1998 and as of June 2019, it was managing approximately EUR 6.2 billion through a variety of investment solutions in direct funds and fund of funds vehicles.The direct private equity team (15 professionals) is dedicated to the acquisition of shares in unlisted companies (in growth or transmission phases), while the funds of funds Team (21 professionals) selects funds and invests in more than 200 third-party funds in private equity (mainly European buyouts), infrastructure and private debt on behalf of institutional separate accounts.As part of its active minority investment strategy (up to 49% of the company’s capital and a seat on the board of directors), Amundi PEF supports unlisted French and other European companies in their development of internal and external growth, shareholder developments and internationalization. Amundi PEF looks for companies with the impact of one of the five global mega-trends identified: technology, demography, environment, globalization and societal developments, essential in France (70%) and the rest of Europe (30%). These companies must generate revenues of more than EUR 30 million and less than EUR 1.5 billion. It is also paramount to have a project of organic and external growth consistent with a quality management team. Furthermore, it is necessary to have a history of profitability, as well as solid financial fundamentals.
