Catalyst Investments is an Israel-based venture capital firm investing in late-stage Israeli and Israeli related companies. It may also invest in companies that are in distressed situations or in the pre-IPO and expansion stages. The fund is focused on the high-technology industry and aims to have a diversified portfolio, including companies from the following sectors: telecommunication, information technologies, enterprise software, medical devices, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Other than unlisted investments, Catalyst Investments may also target PIPE investments in Israeli publicly-traded technology companies.Catalyst Investment often invests as a sole investor in a firm’s last financing round. Target firms should either be already profitable or at the onset of becoming profitable. Distressed firms that have technologies and products that answer market needs and are led by strong management teams will also be considered. Firms that are based in Israel should be seeking to expand their operations worldwide. Catalyst Investment taps on its experience and network to grow investee companies, and will seek exits via IPOs in US, Greater China, and Israel.In December 2011, Catalyst Investments and China-based OneGate Capital co-established Catalyst-OneGate Israel-China Fund and Jintang OneGate Catalyst China Israel Fund. Both venture funds invest across all spectra of the development life cycle and targets industries such as clean technology, modern agriculture, advance manufacturing and other sectors. However, Catalyst-OneGate Israel-China Fund has a predominant focus on Israeli companies and is opportunistic towards China-based firms and China-related firms based outside of China, including Europe. Jintang OneGate Catalyst China Israel Fund will have a more predominant focus on China firms but may also invest in Israeli companies and China-related firms based outside of China, including Europe.
