Previously known as Japan Development Bank (JDB), the bank was established in 1951 and subsequently reorganized into DBJ in 1991.The firm provides fund management business through its subsidiaries including DBJ Regional Investments, Tohoku Fukko Partners, SFG Partners etc. DBJ Regional Investments was established in September 2017 to consolidate its regional fund business that DBJ previously engaged in partnership with HSK&D partners. Tohoku Fukko Partners and SFG partners were created to manage Great East Japan Earthquake Reconstruction Funds launched by DBJ along with regional banks to support the growth and recovery of the regions affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
