DH Private Equity Partners is a European private equity firm that has been actively making investments since it was established in 1985. As a principal investor, the private equity firm looks to usually take a majority stake in market leading businesses headquartered in Northern Europe in the industrial services, consumer and healthcare sectors. It invests on the basis that sufficient funds are available for its portfolio companies and if required makes follow-on investments, without the need to bring other investors in. DH Private Equity Partners focuses on growing and market leading businesses at the upper end of the European middle market and has developed a reputation as an acquirer of family businesses which have accounted for almost half of all investments. The firm takes a sustainable investment approach and is conservative in its use of leverage.Following the death of co-founder and majority shareholder Nigel Doughty in February 2012, the firm restructured to create a new firm which is wholly-owned by a newly-created employee trust and Richard Hanson. In February 2013, the restructuring decision was announced and no future venture capital or real estate funds would be raised.DH Private Equity is no longer investing and is officially winding down their operations.
