ESMA Capital was formed as a result of the merger between CRP and TRG Asset Management to form CRG Partners Group. The firm specializes in investing in underperforming, distressed and other special situation companies across Central and Eastern Europe. The type of situations it invests in ranges from overleveraged or bankrupt companies to underperforming companies due to lack of working capital or unfinished capital expenditure. The firm invests in companies operating in a wide range of sectors excluding regulated industries. In 2010, ESMA Capital became independent from CRG Partners Group. The firm remains as the fund manager for Baltic Fund, which was previously managed by TRG Asset Management.
