The firm was founded by Matthew Barrett, Brian Berman, Holly Kim and Eitan Melamed, previously the executive teams of Barclays Asset Management Group, a subsidiary of Barclays Bank PLC. The firm was formed as an independent entity in 2013 through the spin-off of activities from Barclays. Glendon Capital Management focuses on distressed credit opportunities and special situations.
