Founded in 2015 and based in Tokyo, H&D Partners is a joint venture between Development Bank (DBJ) of Japan and Hoshino Resorts. The firm was established to manage turnaround/growth funds to finance the revival and modernization of hotels and inns in Japan, as part of DBJ's Growth Co-creation Facility.The firm launched its first fund in 2015 focused on providing turnaround capital to operators of hotels and inns, over-leveraged, facing succession issues, or requiring capital for renovation. While their second fund launched in 2017 provides growth capital to operators of hotels and inns contributing to the growth of tourism in the region.
