About HPS Investment Partners

HPS Investment Partners (HPS), formerly known as Highbridge Principal Strategies, was originally formed in March 1997, as a subsidiary of Highbridge Capital Management (HCM) to focus on managing debt and equity investments, including loan, mezzanine, credit opportunities, private equity, real assets, and other investments. In late 2004, J.P. Morgan Asset Management purchased a majority interest in Highbridge and completed full acquisition in 2009. Also in 2009, Highbridge obtained Constellation Growth Capital. Following the success of these events, in October 2010, Highbridge entered into a strategic alliance with Gávea Investimentos, an alternative investment management firm.In October 2015, J.P. Morgan began considering selling off the private equity arm of Highbridge Principal Strategies to the management team. Later in 2016, the management buyout was completed with J.P. Morgan retaining a minority stake. As of March 2016, HPS is an independent entity and no longer a subsidiary of J.P. Morgan.
