Icon Ventures, previously Jafco Ventures, is a venture capital firm which invests in mid-stage technology companies within the communications, components, digital media, internet, software, and wireless sectors. The firm typically leads its financing rounds and prefers to take a seat on the board or be an active manager in its portfolio companies. Icon Ventures' first four funds were largely supported by its longtime limited partner Jafco Co. based in Tokyo, Japan. About every two years, Jafco Co. provided Icon Ventures with fresh capital for a new fund. Jafco Technology Partners V was the first fund to be raised by external investors.
