Kitty Hawk Capital was founded in 1980 and is the oldest active venture capital firm in the southeast US. It pursues a diversified investment strategy; primarily investing in early-stage ventures, but occasionally in to seed and development stage enterprises. It has investments throughout the southeast and as far away as Texas. The majority of its investments are in high-tech or life science companies, however, it has invested in food services, restaurants, movie theatres and publishing. Whilst it considers many options it steers its self away from real estate, natural resources and development stage inventions.
