Mercuria Investment (MIC), formerly known as AD Capital, is a private equity firm based in Tokyo, Japan. The firm was established in 2005 as a joint venture between Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) and Asuka Asset Management. The firm seeks cross border investment opportunities primarily in Japan, China, and the rest of Asia. In Japan, it targets small to mid-cap companies with positive cash flow and high growth potential that are facing succession issues or requiring growth capital.As of March 2019, DBJ remains the largest shareholder of Mercuria Investment, followed by Itochu Corporation and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank. Its shares are listed in the first section of Tokyo Stock Exchange (TYO: 7190).
