Founded in 1974 and based in Tokyo, Japan, Mitsubishi UFJ Capital (MUCAP) is a venture capital arm of MUFG Group. The firm was born as a result of merger between Diamond Capital and UFJ Capital in October 2005. The firm invests in venture companies across all stages in the diversified industries including IT, healthcare, life science, agriculture, service and manufacturing. MUCAP invests primarily in Japan while it also seeks opportunities overseas including US, Europe, Israel and Asia. The firm deploys capital mostly from MUFG Bank and does not seek external capital.
