Founded in 2006 and based in Tokyo, Japan, New Horizon Capital (NHC) is a private equity firm spun off from Phoenix Capital, a Tokyo-based private equity firm specialized in turnaround investments. The firm mainly focuses on domestic buyout deals while also investing in succession, spin-off, growth and turnaround opportunities. The firm targets undervalued SMEs with strong fundamentals and high growth potential, distressed firms suffering from financing issues or a temporary revenue decline, as well as mature mid- to large-sized firms looking to restructure or develop new organizational models. NHC typically acquires controlling stakes in investee companies, but will also consider customized management control policies.NHC has signed Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) in 2016.
