Playford Capital was a private equity firm owned by the state government of South Australia. It focused on early stage venture capital investments in the South Australian market. In Q3 2010, the South Australian government began the process of shutting down Playford Capital, due to a change in policy. Going forward, Playford Capital would not be adding new investee companies to its portfolio and would instead focus on managing its existing portfolio to successful exits.
