Formerly known as Polaris Principal Finance, Polaris Capital Group is a Tokyo-based private equity firm established in 2004 as a joint venture between Mizuho Securities and DIAM Asset Management. The firm seeks buyout opportunities in Japan targeting mid-cap companies operating in a wide range of industries, including technology, consumer goods and logistics. The firm does not invest in real estates and financial services while ventures, PIPEs, and distressed assets are also excluded from the firm’s investment targets.The firm has signed Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) in 2016.
