About Q Capital Partners

Q Capital Partners was first established as Korea Development and Investment Corporation (KODICO) in 1982 and changed name to TG Venture Corporation (TGV) in 1999. In the same year, Q Capital Partners Corporation was formed as a corporate restructuring company and became the controlling shareholder of TGV. In 2004, it changed its name to become Q Capital Partners (QCP). QCP had previous experiences with venture funds in its early years, but has decided to shift its focus to corporate restructuring funds and as such, has little likelihood of raising venture funds going forward. QCP's corporate restructuring funds (CRC funds) are largely supported by various agencies of the Korean government. Each CRC fund seeks to work with a third-party partner that will be the lead investor in each portfolio companies. The CRC fund under the partnership will then follow its investment in a general ratio of 1:1 in terms of capital. QCP's CRC funds mainly seek opportunities in firms in the process of corporate restructuring or are in distressed situations. While QCP largely invests in South Korea, it may have exposure to offshore markets via its CRC funds' partnerships.
