Established in 2010, Rising Japan Equity is a Japan-based private equity firm. RJE was established as a joint venture between Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Sumitomo Corporation, and Sumitomo Trust & Banking. The firm remains sector agnostic, targeting mid-cap buyout and growth opportunities in the Japanese market. RJE adopts a hands-on approach and aims to add value to investee companies with its financial and management expertise, as well as global networks.At the end of January 2018, RJE announced the final close of its second fund, with more than half of the total commitments from outside investors.
