SBI Investment Korea, formerly known as Korea Technology Investment Corp, is the first KOSDAQ-listed venture capital firm. The listing took place in 1989 and the firm adopted its present name in 2011. SBI Investment Korea adopts a broad investment strategy when investing in companies. The firm participates in buyout opportunities and provides capital to growth stage companies. In addition, the firm also invests in companies at various stages of venture development. SBI Investment Korea allocates a proportion of its capital to investments in listed companies, including South Korean companies. The firm commits to a diverse range of technology-oriented industry sectors, including renewable energy, IT, communications, biotechnology, healthcare, services, media contents, electronics sectors. While it primarily invests in South Korea, it will also invest in countries such as Australia and Russia.
