SBICAPS Ventures is the venture capital subsidiary of SBI Capital Markets, the investment banking arm of the State Bank of India (SBI). State Bank of India’s activity in the alternative asset class includes the establishment of limited partnership funds. In 2006, SBICAPS Ventures launched its maiden venture vehicle in partnership with Japan-based private equity firm, SBI Group. The fund invests in companies across all stages of venture development, operating in a wide range of industries, such as environmental services, energy, manufacturing and nanotechnology sectors in India.
