Shanghai Minfu Equity Investment Management is an investment company jointly set up by Japan-based ORIX Corporation, Taiwan-based Uni-President Group and China-based Shanghai International Group. ORIX Corporation and Uni-President Group provided 40% of the capital each, and the remaining was contributed by Shanghai International Group. ORIX Corporation provides fund management advice to Shanghai Minfu Equity Investment Management. In August 2010, Shanghai Minfu Equity Investment Management launched its maiden private equity vehicle, Shanghai Livelihood Fund which provides growth capital to established companies operating in food and beverage sectors in China. The fund also allocates a proportion of its capital to investments in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and ASEAN markets.
