SmartCap is the venture capital arm of the Estonian Development Fund, a government agency focused on the economic development of Estonia. The firm invests in early stage disruptive companies across a diverse range of industries and has historically focused it's investments around the IT sector. The firm has also invested in alternative energies, biotech and manufacturing companies. SmartCap always invests alongside an independent co-investor and can only make investments in companies registered in Estonia.
