Xesgalicia is a private equity and venture capital arm of Instituto Gallego de Promoción Económica, and the firm specializes in seed/start-up, early venture, emerging growth, buyouts, and growth capital investments. The firm also offers ordinary and mezzanine loans to their portfolio companies and are industry agnostic, but do not invest in the finance sector or listed companies. Past investments have been focused at technology-oriented companies especially those within the biotechnology, telecommunications, renewable energy and environmental sectors. The firm invests primarily in the Spanish region of Galica but also considers investments in other parts of Spain.
