Xfund is an early-stage venture capital firm dedicated to finding and supporting technically-gifted entrepreneurs with a liberal arts mindset. Xfund was founded in 2011 as a partnership between four venture capital firms — NEA, Breyer Capital, Accel Partners, and Polaris Partners — and Harvard University.In early 2016, after a disagreement between the general partners, the firm stopped making investments in new businesses, though it still makes follow on investments. The firm hopes to begin making new investments in the future.
